What time does Wordle reset?
Wordle resets every day at midnight local time. Wherever you are in the world, you will get a new word when your clock hits midnight. This means that, for example, people in New Zealand will get the new word about 16 to 17 hours before people in New York.
This is because Wordle runs entirely in your browser and uses the time that the browser sees, which is the time on your computer or phone. This is different from other games like the Daily Crossword and Spelling Bee which have a fixed time that they reset at, regardless of your local time.
As a consequence, it is possible that your win streak will be broken if you play Wordle in a different timezone that's several hours ahead of the timezone you normally play in, for example if you're travelling east from New York to London.
If you want to play the next day's Wordle without having to wait for the clock to strike midnight, you can change your device's time to after midnight and then refresh the page. This will cause Wordle to think that it's the next day and give you the next day's word.
